Php installation

Iam trying to build php from source in windows 8 , i downloaded php source
from "http://www.php.net/downloads.php" and "
http://windows.php.net/download/#php-5.5" which one of these should i use
to build php and also from "http://windows.php.net/download/#php-5.5"
under "VC11
x86 Thread Safe (2013-Oct-17 00:30:06) "
(Although iam not sure what is thread safe and non-thread safe)i downloaded
'zip' and 'Debug pack'  where should i use these two packages.
