Terminal - php processes question

Hello,

We have installed (nginx 1.26.2 and) php83 (with php83-fpm) on macOS
using macport builds.

When starting (nginx and) php we notice it creates multiple processes: a
master (root) and multiple worker (user) processes.
Hierarchically these processes are all child of the Terminal process and
this implicates that quitting the Terminal causes all processes to be
killed.

Upon quitting Terminal, we noticed that only the worker processes start
back up underneath the launchd process.
This causes our website to run incorrectly (and I think it might be
related to fastcgi, but I'm not certain).

My question, how do we start the php services without the need for the
Terminal so that quitting the Terminal doesn't cause any problems.

Thank you for your time!

Met vriendelijke groeten | Bien à vous | Kind regards
Dimitri
