So it's OK to break working code so long as it's *my* working code? What 
happened to "tell me if you're working in my area"? You broke a working 
function that wasn't even there last week and - by your own description - 
has nothing to do with your forthcoming patch. Could you please stay with 
what you were going to do in the first place and let me adapt it following 
your commit?

I'd understand better if I knew what you were talking about. Did I miss 
something during that 8-line merge? If so, wouldn't it be more normal to 
just tell me?
