Since when? And where does this code come from?

I thought we still relied on readdir.c - this one passed me by completely. 
Seems to have bypassed the entire PHP source too, unless it's used in HEAD? 
(Haven't checked out HEAD yet and ViewVC is b0rked.)

Or does glob use it for 64-bit builds?
