DLL binaries of PECL extensions

Hi, I came to this mail list based on the notice on the PHP website at: http://www.php.net/archive/2008.php#id2008-12-10-1

What is the status of getting DLLs of PECL extensions? The website says it will "hopefully" be ready in early 2009 and I have not seen anything more recent posted about it.
