Hey Rob, can we please get back to the subject in hand. This is really
getting ridiculous, I've done nothing to earn the kind of venom that I'm
getting here and certainly not from you.

How? Seriously, how is it causing anyone a problem?

You are not the only person working on things here. Greg

Sorry to ruin the fantasy but I have responsibility for that, that's exactly
why I was pushing MONTHS AGO to get HEAD up to par - y'know, when I fixed
the test suite there and made the tests unicode-only and delivered a huge
patch to remove the switches from core? We have well over 20% test failures
in phar in HEAD, hopefully all due to problems in the Engine and not in the
extension but **I can't tell** because the Engine problems generate so much
noise. Using bullying tactics isn't going to change that one whit. Fixing
the Engine, would.

Great, so you have the means to do that. I don't - technically, for the
reasons given above or pragmatically, because I'm working with a whacked-out
laptop and have bugger-all means of replacing it. It chokes when it builds,
it chokes when it checks out, it overheats at least 8 times during the
course of a day. I'm not "not committing to HEAD", but I do have to decide
which branch I'm working on in any given day because otherwise I wouldn't
have time to do anything other than testing. And I'm certainly not up for
committing stuff there that isn't 100% cleared in 5_3 because there's every
chance I'll need to revert it in the next few days anyway. So, hobby-horse
aside for a minute, and can we please get back to the question of what is
actually needed from the dependency function that it doesn't currently
offer?

Even ones that don't work? I noticed the crap I want gone from the extension
configs isn't in HEAD, for one.
