Bundling pdo-firebird in 5.5

Hello,

I've noticed that the pdo-firebird module is not included in the 5.5  
release candidates.

In the IRC channel, I was told that was because of depedency problems. Can  
anything be done (or is there anything I can help with) to get  
pdo-firebird module back to the official php builds?
