PHP as a scripting language

Just curious if anyone knows about using PHP as a scripting language for an
application.  If it's been done before, etc.

If not, I'm interested in working on it.  I think you all know how advanced
and easy PHP, and as a scripting language, would take over the world =))

Anyway, any feedback would kick ass.
