note 86289 added to function.file-exists

Please be sure to avoid escape characters (\n \t \r etc.) as they are not stripped while using this function. 
Constructions like this will always fail (at least on PHP Version 5.2.1):

$foo = "bar.txt \n";
if (file_exists($foo)) "File exists: ".$foo;
----
