Hi Richard,

Some vendors would not be able to directly contribute to the code as  
it is today without a CLA.
This basically means that things carry on as they have been in the  
past, with the drivers developed by people that are not on the inside  
track, as you put it.

MySQL in particular said that a CLA has no bearing on their level of  
support, so you picked a "bad" example.
