Searching the entire pearweb repo, I can't find a function definition
for txfield().

I'm not sure, but probably "Fixed in release (Closed)" position in
bugtracker ticket creates a description: "Thank you for your bug report.
This issue has been fixed in the latest released version of the package,
which you can download at http://pear.php.net/get/". The link doesn't
work.
