Thank you for taking the time to write to us, but this is not
a bug.

This is expected behavior of the PEAR installer. That said, not sure if
it makes sense for a stable package to depend on
non-stable a package.

I figured out that I have to "pear config-set preferred_state beta",
that did the trick. Perhaps it would be useful to note this somewhere as
long as the package depends on beta components.

Description:
------------
It seems the PEAR installer wants a stable release of HTTP_Request2, but
when I glance at http://pear.php.net/package/HTTP_Request2/download, I
only see alpha and beta releases. Is this an incorrect dependency in
Services_ReCaptcha - should it depend on the beta release instead?
(Perhaps HTTP_Request2 was incorrectly marked as stable at some point.)

Test script:
---------------
sudo pear install Services_ReCaptcha

Expected result:
----------------
A successful installation.

Actual result:
--------------
Failed to download pear/HTTP_Request2 within preferred state "stable",
latest release is version 2.0.0beta3, stability "beta", use
"channel://pear.php.net/HTTP_Request2-2.0.0beta3" to install
pear/Services_ReCaptcha requires package "pear/HTTP_Request2" (version
>= 0.1.0)
pear/Services_ReCaptcha can optionally use PHP extension "mcrypt"
No valid packages found
install failed
