This bug has been fixed in SVN.
If this was a documentation problem, the fix will appear on pear.php.net
by the end of next Sunday (CET).
If this was a problem with the pear.php.net website, the change should
be live shortly.
Otherwise, the fix will appear in the package's next release.
Thank you for the report and for helping us make PEAR better.

The modification to enable logging to the console in Chrome (and firefox
4+) is not too difficult, just remove the check for the firebug object
in the Log/firebug.php file.
I have attached a patch, but I'm not used to making patches, so it might
have to be applied manually.

Description:
------------
I am a huge fan of the possibility to log to firebug.
Wouldn't it be nice if it was possible to use PEAR til log to
Chrome as well.
PHP Console make that possible.
http://code.google.com/p/php-console/
Maybe that could be integrated into PEAR log in order to be
able til select that as a logging option as well as the existing
options.
