This bug has been fixed in SVN.

If this was a documentation problem, the fix will appear on pear.php.net
by the end of next Sunday (CET).

If this was a problem with the pear.php.net website, the change should
be live shortly.

Otherwise, the fix will appear in the package's next release.

I've decided that one single socket wrapper function would be
sufficient.

I will attach a patch which incorporates this.

Description:

This package should have it's own own socket wrapper functions so
developers can override them by extending the class.

You should need one for open, one for write, one for read and close.

Developers (such as myself) may wish to do this for logging and
proxying.

A proposal will follow shortly...
