Hi. IMHO, PEAR2_Services_Pingback wouldn't be confusing at all... IF (and only IF!) PEAR1 never gets ahold of another package called "Pingback2". Things could become confusing *then*. After the PEAR2 package is published, it might be worth adding a "deprecated in favor of PEAR2_Services_Pingback" link at the PEAR1 page, to avoid any potential confusion (even though for me, personally, the release date is a good enough guide). -----Original Message----- From: Christian Weiske [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Wednesday, October 31, 2012 2:38 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [PEAR-DEV] PEAR2 / Services_Pingback(2?) Hi, I'm re-implementing new Services_Pingback for PEAR2 and PHP 5.3+. Shall I call it Services_Pingback or Services_Pingback2? While I know that I won't get path conflicts by calling it Services_Pingback, I fear that people will get confused when there are 2 Services_Pingback packages, one on PEAR and one on PEAR2. -- Regards/Mit freundlichen Grüßen Christian Weiske -=≡ Geeking around in the name of science since 1982 ≡=-
