PHPExcel[1] is not Spreadsheet_Excel_Writer[2]. PHPExcel is not hosted
on pear.php.net; we have nothing to do with it.

If you talk about Spreadsheet_Excel_Writer; you can use it with PHP
5.3, although you should disable E_DEPRECATED, E_STRICT and E_NOTICE
error levels.
