Dear Christian Weiske,
Based on your inputs, I traced the files to be in /var/lib/pear directory.
xxxxx:/var/lib/pear> ls -altr
total 1744
drwxr-xr-x 5 root root 108 Dec 17 17:31 .
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Dec 18 19:22 pkgxml

I would prefer copying those files residing in /var/lib/pear to
/usr/share/pear except for pkgxml directory. Is it OK? The default
settings in RHEL are /usr/share/pear and I would prefer not to change
them. Only thing not known is, why the file/directories moved to
/var/lib/pear directory?
