Firewall config to allow pear install

Hi,

One of our developers wants to install / update packages with pear.
Pear config-show answers :
Auto-discover new Channels     auto_discover    <not set>
Default Channel                default_channel  pear.php.net
HTTP Proxy Server Address      http_proxy       <not set>
PEAR server [DEPRECATED]       master_server    pear.php.net
Default Channel Mirror         preferred_mirror pear.php.net

So, I guess I need to allow access to pear.php.net, right?. Which port(s) is pear using? Do I need to allow TCP, UDP or both?

Thank you in advance for your help.

P.S. : I already looked online, the answers I found (pear config-set http_proxy …) won’t work here.
