Greetings, My name is David Mitchel, and heretofore, have not been involved in PEAR. I've resolved to impose myself on the good folk of the PEAR QA Team; as I would like to humbly request a lead maintainer role over two currently unmaintained packages. :-) Crypt_RC4 Crypt_RC42 I would like to update these two packages to current developer guide-lines, improve code readability, as well as create their documentation (and update their phpdoc documentation). Additionally, I would like to ensure they maintain compatibility with future versions of PHP and conform to the RC4 specification, and best practices, more strictly to achieve the highest level of security possible. The RC4 encryption algorithm is simple, but effective, and has a great history. I feel that it is a great starting point for not only learning more about cryptography, but also a great first project to learn most any language; especially PHP. I want to maintain these two packages to make sure they are easily understood for those that are using RC4 as a learning tool. I am a PHP developer by trade, who now manages the technology resources of the Computer Science Department of Texas State University-San Marcos. Thank you for your consideration. -- David Mitchel Technology and Lab Coordinator Computer Science Department Texas State University-San Marcos
