Net_SmartIRC

To whom it may concern:

I would like to take over the package Net_SmartIRC (
http://pear.php.net/package/Net_SmartIRC/) that is currently not being
maintained in the pear site. I am currently in the middle of a personal
project that needed the functionality to talk to IRC servers and found this
package.

A bit about myself:

I've been developing for a bit over 10 years. I am currently working at
OpenSoft Dev, and my company has a very Pro Open Source view. One of the
developers there built OXM (For Doctrine) which I've been helping with
lately and we constantly look for opportunities to make contributions to
the open source community.

I plan on updating this project to follow the latest standards (PSR-0, 1
and 2) and Eventually build a Symfony bundle for it as well as fix the
current bugs and add new features.

I know that pear2 has a package repository and I would include this library
there once updated, with the new code also being available in GitHub and
Packagist.

I've never taken over a PEAR library before so if there are any questions
or anything else that I need to say, or you guys need to know, please let
me know.
