I'm in the process to create and release (once and only _once_) the
missing packages.
They will have the unmaintained/superseded flag according to their real
status.
Don't expect other releases even if patches are available.

Gregs solution effectively makes the package "live" in pecl, packages
can be around without having releases tho it might be advisable to put
up the latest release if doable

the solution is to add new packages for each orphaned unreleased pecl
ext (the "New Package" link on the left)
I suggest we keep this one open but consider it a Pecl website bug
rather than a bug system bug

But many extensions live in the pecl cvs module but lack pecl.php.net
websites (and bug categories).

That should be in the php bug system - it's not a PECL ext unless it
lives in PECL, IMHO.
