about the recent pear server problems

Hello all, It seems that our new hoster, eUKhost, brought us quite some problems. The root filesystem remounted itself readonly two times last week - the reason I had to restart the whole server two times. Yesterday, on the second restart, the server did not come up again - it required a manual fsck before any network services were up. Since we couldn't do this, eUKhost had to be contacted and they had to do that. pear.php.net was down about 6 hours. During this time we noticed that us.pear.php.net was outdated (still listing pear 1.7.2 as recent), and de.pear.php.net (my own server) was completly down. We also noticed that we had no backups... The german mirror is up again now and totally in sync with pear.php.net, and I'll contact Josh for us.pear.php.net. Martin made the backup work. I really hope that there are no forthcoming harddisk problems, but now we're better prepared. Before I forget: Most of the mail sending problems have been solved, but I presume that there are still some bugs in pearweb regarding the pepr mails.
