I think we are at a point where we should discuss (continue the 
discussion) the best approach to extend current/future PEAR 
functionality, on this topic (DB wrapper/extension with veraious 
functions) we already have two persons who want to contribute code and 
seems to be a structure already in PEAR.
While I am the third person who has similar things to contribute and in 
about a week, maybe two I will have time again to work on code I would 
volunteer to review all the code and try a merge, maybe we can try to 
merge it with more than one person concurrently, we'll see - of course 
we should discuss the structure first then, depens on the amount of code 
contributed

summarized:
a) if not totally created for PEAR and needs adaption, discuss it on the 
list an see who has things to contribute and wants to take leadership on 
the initial merge and who joins the party, maybe discuss overall changes 
too (if needed)
b) discuss how to merge contributed code, what to drop, what to keep, 
what to modify, anyone can prodivde ideas here
c) start working ;)
