User authentication/permissions/etc. is a big, complicated area. Phplib's solutions for that area aren't generic solutions that let you tackle any project; they're specific solutions that let you tackle some smaller/simpler kinds of projects. Therefore, I don't think they should become the "PEAR Auth", "PEAR User", etc. official solutions.
