It is looking very likely that PECL will be officially deprecated as of
tomorrow, see: https://wiki.php.net/rfc/adopt_pie_deprecate_pecl

Whilst this does not strictly stop you from applying to add this package to
PECL, there will be diminishing returns, as PIE will be adopted as the
official installation method for PHP extensions.
