Config files have so far been the designer's salvation while waiting for
the day to come when style sheets are safe to use without having to
compensate for earlier browsers that don't support them. In that sense,
per-template configuration variables come in handy for allowing the
flexibility to change font attributes,table background colors, image
paths, and such within different templates. By allowing that, the same
exact html code can present the illusion of a different interface simply
by changing values in the config file. It's like creating 10 effortless
designs out of one.
