Sure, I'm familiar with a KNOWN_BUGS.TXT distributed with many programs,
however for some reason I'd expect better than "the commercial guys
do it" from opensource.

My main objection was to Joey's comments that php should follow the
Linux release methodology:

Which I find to be a diservice to anyone not keeping up with the
mailing lists or inside information.
