Last I checked, yes it compiles on Linux (about a day or two ago). The problem is that libswf is not supported for win32 systems (however Macromedia's SDK is, once my NT box is back from the shop I'm going to work on that). It don't think you can compile the swf extension on Win32 systems (also e-mail Paul Heaberli if you want a Win32 port, or for him to open source it, his address is on the libswf web site).
