I have to agree that opening up the bug system would be useful. I have at least one reproducable crash on the much onloved win32 platform, that has been reported in the bug database. I had some information to add to the bug which may or may not have proved useful to anyone trying to fix the bug, but the bug system wouldn't let me add the info. I toyed with the idea of opening another bug(I'm on NT SP6), and the original complaint was on WIN98, but thought that this would only give somebody the trouble of closing as a duplicate. Instead, I appended to this forum, but it probably means that the info will not be seen by whoever eventually fixes the bug. At least if I could append to the bug report, all the information would be together. By the way, I am trying to fix the bug myself, I've lost count of the number of recompiles I've done in MSVC, mainly for two reasons. My C++ is not so hot, but what the hell, I can write other languages, and I got the book. The main problem I have is I know next to nothing of the internal structure of PHP. If there are some pointers to this information around, I would at least be able to try and approach the problem in a more logical way. This could also encourage others to try and fix their problems. To do it straight from the code is pretty daunting unless you've been in a C++ Unix environment for a long time. Best regards. . . Fred(Still recompiling)
