odbc_free_result() and temp tables

hi all.

we are experiencing a strange behaviour of our adabas-d
database using PHP4 and the included odbc-driver:

we use the connection pooling of the odbc driver (but
no pconnect in PHP as this always caused error messages).

the problem is that the used temporary tablespace in the
database is constantly growing until the database is shut
down and restarted.

the database manual says that temp.tables are created
with result sets and should be destroyed when the connection
is terminated. unfortunately, as we are using connection pooling,
the connections remain up all the time. so the temporary tables
are not killed at all.

i thought, odbc_free_result would free all used resources but
obviously it doesn't.

any ideas?
