class name

hi there guru guys :)

    i'm quite new with php (4) andi  have such a problem:

- can i get a class name (or even an object name) from instance variable
? (or maybe something like $this->class_name ??)

  i searched the documentation on www.php.net web site and i didn't find
anything interesting about classes (maybe u know any other source of
good docs.?)
