evans code kept the fd_sets in globals variables in the php
engine and not on the script-level. i am the evil guy that did not
want this to hit public before it's in better shape. evan
agreed that his current implementation was not flexible
enough so i decided to take it out for the time beeing.
i'm sure it will reappear in good-shape one day. anybody
wants to volonteer?
