domxml libxml2 apachestatic

Hallo,
I'm trying to install php4.0 with domxml support.

I did NOT succeeded doing:

$ cd php-4.0.0
$ ./configure --with-apache=/opt/apache_1.3.12
--with-dom=/opt/libxml2-2.0.0 --with-mysql --with-xml
$ make
$ make install

As static module in Apache:
$ cd apache_1.3.12
$ ./configure --prefix=/usr/local/apache
--activate-module=src/modules/php4/libphp4.a
$ make
$ make install
$ cp /usr/local/apache/bin/httpd /usr/sbin/httpd

What I wrong ??

- Seems that libxml (alone) works (I've tryed the test scripts).
- In phpinfo() I have:
		Configure Command
			'./configure' '--with-apache=/opt/apache_1.3.12'
			'--with-dom=/opt/libxml2-2.0.0' '--with-mysql' '--with-xml'

		XML Support
			active

and nothing in 'Additional Modules' (except 'Environment' and 'PHP
Variables')

-In the dir ext/domxml seems that nothing has been done, some .o files
are in ext/xml


Is it possible to use domxml with static module ?
I'm using linux RedHat 6.1.
Where I can find something to understand better about extensions,
modules, etc ??

Please, did someone succeed in using domxml with linux ? Could send the
versions 
of the software used ? 
Any help is VERY appreciated.
