I refreshed my RC1 binaries (I think it was the RC1) with the 4.0.0 isapi release version and basically it's working, that is it shows phpinfo() and gives the expected results for other functions. I haven't tried any mysql or database connects with my own code yet. However, as with the RC1, I can't use phpMyAdmin to administer a mysql database. If I use basic authentication (what phpMyAdmin defines as this) I get the databases and the tables displayed on the left, but that's it, selecting a table or database gives "no tables found in the databse", show processes gives "no database selected". A reload just does nothing, not even a "reload failed". With advanced authentication I get several not clearly reproducable results: same result as above, wrong user/password or access violations. (The differing results may come from "non-clean" testing, f.i. not reloading inetinfo.exe, not closing the browser etc., nevertheless it's clear that it doesn't work.) The mysql and permissions on that machine are fine, I can use a phpMyAdmin on another (Unix) machine just fine to connect and administer it. If I try to connect with the phpMyAdmin on the win2k machine to another myslqd on a Unix machine it just reloads the starting page for the local database. I think all this clearly identifies either phpMyAdmin having a problem with PHP4 (I have only PHP3 on my other Unix machines, so I can't test against such a setup) or the php4isapi.dll having still a problem with mysql connects.
