I actually like having the newest stable branch be in a bigger size.
It's a constant battle to get users to upgrade from old branches, and
that sort of thing helps reinforce it.

If the Windows download link is retained (more on that in a moment),
then I'd probably be inclined to change the arrow to a highly stylised
version of the Windows logo. I could mock something up quickly if
desired.

Agreed; I think reorganising the way we list downloads in general to
group by version first, then platform and download type
(source/binary) would be a nice improvement.
