Since the December meetup was canceled for bad weather, I'm pleased to
announce Jonathan Yankovich's talk will be presented this month. Here's
what he has in store for you...
There's more to programming than knowing how to make the computer do
what you want. What /not/ to do is as important as what to do.
Jonathan Yankovich will go over some techniques and define some terms
like Spaghetti Code, Good variable names, Why to use classes and
objects, When to use include files, and more. We may also cover hooks
and writing code that's designed to be overridden.
We'll think about project management and what it means to work on a
project where you're not the only developer, and share stories about
inheriting projects from people who didn't follow best practices.
Keep away from bad karma in your programming projects, know what /not/
to do!
Come for a meet at greet with fellow developers at 6:30 and stay for
the presentation at 7:00.
