Beginner question

Gentlemen.



I'm a web pages developer.  For several years I have transferred to the
server to be able to test run my PHP with MySQL programs.



Recently I decided to install *PHP, MySQL and Apache* in my computer.  Since
I always depended of the server, I simply don't know what to do to start PHP
to start debugging locally instead of transferring to the server.



I installed all three above in a windows XP environment.  What do I have to
do to run locally my PHP programs.  I double click   PHP.exe  and obtain a
black DOS screen????



Please help me get started running locally.


Suddenly I understand that I know how to make quite complex programs in PHP
and Don't even know how PHP get stated once installed in my PC.
