How about doing us one better; give a talk on "how to help php.net"
and a few hours "workshop" at php|london next year?

We are seriously in need of more people to participate in developing
our websites, documenting (writing articles, FAQ, examples, upgrade
guides, heck even our Docbook rendering engine needs more love (PHP
based, of course)), SVN migration (including porting the perl scripts
to PHP), news writing, verifying bugs...

Conference planners are always saying how their primary goal is to
help the community yet they don't seem to care about _php.net_, "you
people" could do so much more for the community if "you" wanted!

Yes. I am very frustrated person ;). I hate when people sell articles
to magazines and corporate blogs and presentations to conferences
about topic that php.net has not covered due to lack of personnel.
Heck, some people have even committed features to php-src and then
completely ignored the docs just to be able to sell articles to
_bunch_ of magazines and blogs and have given multiple presentations
about the topic for _years_.
How exactly does that benefit the community? We have features which
were introduced in PHP4 which are still not covered in our manual, but
are very hot topic on all conferences.

I am sure if you really want to help out you could invite someone who
actually does work _for_ the community, not against it.

(p.s; Apparently my wording usually sounds harsh and people take it
the wrong way. Don't get me wrong, it is supposed to be harsh ;) but I
am a lovely guy and "don't mean anything by it", just trying to open
peoples eyes) :)
