1. I can connect to a local SVN repos and it all works fine using the 
Eclipse/subversive stuff, so I don't think it's a problem with subversive
2. I installed the command line client and was able to checkout php-src
3. I can browse the repo ok just by using http://svn.php.net in a web 
browser
4. I'm getting (at least) two different errors when I try to browse the 
repo from Elclispe, the error detail in Eclipse is as follows:

(a)
    Get repository folder children operation failed.
    svn: PROPFIND request failed on '/!svn/bc/279478/php-src/trunk'
    svn: Connection reset

(b)
    Get repository folder children operation failed.
    svn: REPORT request failed on '/php-objc'
    svn: Processing REPORT request response failed: The element type 
"META" must be terminated by the matching end-tag "</META>".         
(/php-objc)

These sometimes go away if I restart Eclipse and sometimes not - the 
worst sort of problem to have :-(. I'll keep looking, if you have any 
suggestions let me know.
