into tags?  tags are supposed to be read-only points of reference (and i'd 
suggest adding hooks to enforce this).  experimental branches are still 
branches... and thus ought to be either in the location pre-allocated for 
branches ("branches"), or a seperate directory (like giving a seperate users 
directory for users or similar).  

of course i'm just armchair cm'ing from here, given my lack of any kind of 
authoritative role in the project :)
