Right now, a proposal is on the floor to “move [the UG admins list] off of php.net to a private (but not secret) list” (see http://news.php.net/ug.admins/942 ). Thanks, Cal, for canceling the vote, pending further discussion and research. For the record, I did not ask Cal to cancel the vote, but I did express concern over opening a vote so quickly on an issue that significantly impacts the group. It is not my wish to stonewall the vote or sway everyone to “my side.” However, I do think we have a number of issues to discuss. I want to write a longer message to outline the issues as I see them and my concerns, but in the meantime, I wanted to create a new thread for discussion, and I wanted to point out that there appears to be movement on changing the software that PHP.net currently uses for mailing list, so whatever PHP.net decides to use might give us more and better options. Additionally, our discussion can provide weight and considerations to help make a decision on what software to use for the PHP project regardless of whether we decide to stay or go elsewhere. Thanks, Ben
