Thanks so much to everyone for the quick response!

I do need clarification on one thing. With 5 years experience at one company plus my own web shop on the side, I have rarely dealt with recruiters. When you give descriptions like "recruiting companies with a clue" or "recruiters who 'get it'", I assume you mean recruiters who are onboard with open source programming? Or is there a deeper meaning here?

They even keep a fridge stocked with beer just for the occasion. :) You need to tread lightly when dealing with recruiting agencies, make sure they understand that the point of the meeting is PHP, not them collecting resumes. However, if you find a good one, they are fun to work with.
