Hey peeps, In the past years, we've organized several testfests for PHP itself. In the past years we've seen this become harder because the low hanging fruit is gone and the remaining parts of PHP that are not tested yet are either very hard or impossible to test. Especially for the purpose of getting in new contributors, it was becoming too hard to organize a new TestFest for PHP. For this reason, we've decided to go beyond the original idea of TestFest this year, and instead add unit tests to existing Open Source projects based on PHP. Together with our friends from AmsterdamPHP, we're organizing a TestFest with the purpose of adding test coverage to the phpDocumentor and ProTalk projects. We feel it's important to improve the PHP ecosystem in this way. The purpose of this day is just like it was with PHP: To hopefully get more new people involved in open source projects, as well as teach people something new (in this case: how to write proper tests). I just wanted to inform you of this effort. Perhaps it's an idea for your next event as well? Stefan
