Re: [UG-ADMINS] Meetup.com & Custom Domain changes

Giving my 7/8 months experience running for the first time a UG, the phplx
is using meetup.com but we reached a point that it does not give us any
more value in terms of new members. Our workflow is simple, we announce
every meetup pointing to our website and than we've a eventbrite
registration tool. Eventbrite give us a lot of features like: app for iOS
and Android to do the check-in, API to retrieve users to do the prize
raffle, Email invitations and surveys with mailchimp and surveymonkey, a
great management panel, and lots of other stuff.

What we do is create the event of meetup.com and than say everybody that
the RSVP is on eventbrite, also we create the event in joind.in.

IMHO the ammount of money that meetup.com charges is to high for the
service delivered, frankly if I didn't got a sponsor to pay for it I
wouldn't use it.
