We've been kicking this idea around a lot in SDPHP. Even though we have 2 monthly meetings to address how spread out geographically San Diego County is, we still have a lot of request from people who can't make meetings for one reason or the other. The cheap solution I've been thinking of doing recently is publishing slides the day of the meeting on Google Docs and then doing a Google Hangout for people who want to be remote to allow them to see and participate in the meeting that is going on. They can then follow along with the slides in another window if they would like. After the meeting, publishing both the video and slides together.
