Thanks Lig. Looking at their meet up page, http://www.meetup.com/new-york-php/, it looks like they were very active at one point in time. However it also appears as though one of their main organizers may have moved to FL. Could be the cause of them not being so active any more this year. I will for sure send this information over to my co-worker. Let me know if there are any other groups that direction as well. I don't believe he lives in the heart of NYC so even stuff close to New Jersey might be easy for him to get to.
