It is I who moved to FL :) Though I do stay in touch with the area
regularly.

We're still "active" though presentations have certainly waned. The
community as a whole I think has specialized and PHP has become a de facto
- similar to your local C/C++, Java and even Linux community to a large
extent... and especially in NYC, where there's a meetup for everything you
can imagine... and many things you don't want to :)

That said, we do get folks in the area and whenever anyone is in town, do
let me know and we'll get a crowd together for presentations and
food/drinks.

We should have a presentation or two before the end of the year and the
mailing lists can be active. Jobs has a steady flow and Talk will answer
most any question that comes up - and of course Announce is for the
meetings.

The meetup.com group adds people regularly, but as a meetup group, not much
happens aside from announcements from nyphp.org - though sometimes it's
hard to justify the fees :)

Best,
