PHP 4 Startups

Hi all,

A quick intro:  I'm Hans Zaunere and I founded NYPHP.org and some other
user groups.

I'm begun kicking around some ideas on a new initiative, PHP Startups.  The
focus is to create a central resource for those startups who built their v1
platform on PHP, as well as provide a jobs/opportunity board for those
looking to join a PHP based startup.  Additionally would be resources
explaining why using PHP for a startup makes sense.

The idea came from seeing the many resources and recommendations for
startups to use RoR (and Javascript).  It also comes from working with some
developers in the startup space and their unwavering need to use the
"latest technology" when in fact they are shooting themselves in the foot -
especially in a startup ecosystem.  PHP is, amazingly, considered old tech
but we can change that!

I post this to this group to gather feedback, ideas, and thoughts on
structure for building the platform - and of course anyone interested in
getting involved - thoughts?  Feel free to email me directly offlist, too.
