Das müssten eigehende Mails (über fetchmail) sein, die nicht korrekt 
gestaltet sind, meist Spam.

Ob die nun irgendwann doch rausgegangen sind, kann ich dir nicht sagen. In 
/var/spool/exim/input ist ja nichts mehr drin.

Üblicherweise versucht es exim mehrfach, eine Mail mit wachsender Pause zu 
versenden, bevor er irgendwann aufgibt, worüber man IMHO der Postmaster 
informiert wird.
