I've not found much time to work on this since posting v2; one thing I did manage was to add some support for memory overcommit; taking pages away and then reconstituting them on demand with async #PF in the guest. https://git.infradead.org/?p=users/dwmw2/linux.git;a=commitdiff;h=894dd0fcb34 Then I went down a rabbithole trying to remove individual pages from the IOMMU on Arm64, which I think I need to shelve for now and tackle as a separate project. It worked out OK on Intel and AMD.
